Work Underway at New West Philadelphia Community Center

Construction is officially underway on the Lucien E. Blackwell Community Center in West Philadelphia’s Mill Creek neighborhood, a new 12,300-square-foot facility designed by JacobsWyper Architects.  Named after the late U.S. Congressman and Councilman Lucien Blackwell, who represented the area for many years, the center will contain a regulation-size basketball/volleyball court, multi-purpose Community Room, warming kitchen and outdoor patio.
